CMC Leadville Abroad:
Updates from CMC East Africa
Colorado Mountain College students in the middle of the CMC East Africa Study Abroad trip have successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro. The experience, which began December 29th and ends on January 12th, has introduced students to African wildlife, cultural immersion with the Maasai, and allowed them to spend 6 days hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft).
Following the climb, students will spend 3 days on safari in Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park where they will see African wildlife in some of the most beautiful parks on the continent.
In addition to their immersive experience, students participate and earn college credit in courses like Human Geography, Non-Technical Mountaineering and Trekking.
