2019 Cloud City Rail Jam Results

PC: Brooke Larson

The Backyard Terrain Park was jammin’ on Saturday, March 23, 2019 for the annual Cloud City Rail Jam! This year’s event was a huge success, breaking participation records with 51 combined competitors with just as many spectators cheering on their favorite skiers and riders. There were 5 divisions: 9 years & under, 10 – 13 years, Women’s Open (14 yr+), Mens Snowboard Open(14 yr+), & Mens Ski Open (14 yr+).

PC: Brooke Larson

“It was a great time,” says Jason Gusaas, Ski Area Ops faculty at Colorado Mountain College Leadville, “The students built a great course. The good weather made for excellent conditions for some big-time tricks and a very high level competition.”

The Rail Jam is a student-led event, put on entirely by Ski Area Operations students as a final grade for the Events Management class.

Congratulations to the winning competitors! Thank you to all the students, sponsors, participants, and spectators who joined in on the fun. We’re already looking forward to next year’s jam!
