Amy Smallwood, new Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Colorado Mountain College Leadville

The Leadville Campus would like to officially welcome Amy Smallwood as the new Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Leadville. Amy will be transitioning from her current role as the Assistant Dean of Instruction, where she has contributed her vast knowledge of Outdoor Education to the team.

A native of Leadville and Buena Vista, she spent time working in the Arkansas River Valley as well as past positions in her career ranging from Department Chair and Associate Professor of Outdoor Leadership Studies at Simpson University in Redding, CA to previous years working with Outward Bound Canada as an Instructor. Her certifications include: Wilderness EMT, Outdoor Emergency Care, Avalanche I, and many more.

Currently, Amy is pursuing a PhD in Environmental Philosophy from Lancaster University in the UK. The Leadville Campus will greatly benefit from Amy’s impressive and extensive professional background. Amy officially assumes her new role on May 18th.
